High up on Cronk Ny Arrey Laa is this beautiful stone inscribed with the Manx Fisherman’s Evening Hymn, by WH Gill. Looking further South you can make out the Sloc, Bradda Head and onwards to the Calf of Man. Tom The Dipper – Above Ballakilpheric
On the road heading up to the “Sloc” and high up above Ballakilpheric is this lovely little memorial to “Tom the Dipper” the views from this idyllic position overlooking the South of the Island are absolutely magnificent on a fine day The stone plaque says “Site of the cottage built by Thomas Shimmin, poet and baptist preacher, aided by his wife Nell”.
