I loved these pictures of the Manxman Peter, thank you – I didn’t know about the new ship. My sister worked on the King Orry and the Ben-my-Chree in the early 1950’s before we both joined the British Army. Gosh, I wish I could put the clock back but your pictures are the very next best thing – it was wonderful growing up on the IOM and memories flood in – except it was also a time of War. I also loved the picture of the Church at St. John’s – even though I am not religious but my Aunt used to play the Organ at St. John’s
Church and we children, went to the School just across the road and then later, on the Steam Train to Ballakermeen. I’ll sign off with many thanks and the beautiful way your present your lovely pictures for us.
