My great grandfather, William Kelly, was born in Kirk Bride and sailed to the United States from Ramsey in 1868 around South America arriving in San Francisco. The ship was built in Ramsey and iron hulled. A sister ship graces the harbor at the maritime museum of San Diego and is still sailed at least once per year. My ancestors are probably buried at the Bride Parish Church!
