Dinah’s Cottage Glen Maye

Posted on February 18, 2017February 19, 2017 by Peter Killey

I love this old cottage called “Dinah’s Cottage” at Glen Maye but there is no way I would ever visit that outside loo after dark 🙂 Feel free to make any comments either on this website by clicking the ‘Leave a Comment’ text in this post above or by logging onto my Facebook Page enjoy – Click on the image for a larger view.

Lag Ny Keeilley

Posted on April 11, 2015April 11, 2015 by Peter Killey

The most isolated of all Manx keeills which stands on a small platform on the steep western sloapes near to the foot of Cronk Ny Arrey Laa. The original boundaries of the burial ground are almost perfect and just outside the foundation of the priest’s cell. Several cross slabs and many lintel graves have also been discovered here. The name Lag Ny Keeilley means “The hollow of the chapel” Feel free to make any comments either on this website by clicking the “Write comment” below or by logging onto my Facebook Page enjoy – Click on the image for a larger view.

The Tholtans known as ‘The Terrace’ at Glen Rushen.

Posted on March 25, 2015April 25, 2015 by Peter Killey

Formerly miners cottages, when I was there today I counted 7 front door entrances but there could have possibly been an other one at an adjacent building!? The stepped back image of the tholtan with 3 upper windows appears to have been the home of a more senior mining employee. Niarbyl Bay Cottages

Posted on April 20, 2012April 29, 2012 by Peter Killey

These Manx thatched cottages which overlooks the quaint Niarbyl Bay are probably more famous as the cottages used for the 1998 film Waking Ned Devine  – The left hand cottage was the cottage where Ned Devine died after winning the Irish Lottery 🙂 This image was captured on my Fuji X10 camera resized and cropped in Adobe Photoshop CS5 Feel free to make any comments either on this website by clicking the “Write comment” below or by logging onto my Facebook page www.facebook.com/manxscenes Click on the image for a larger view.
