The Former Falcon Brewery in Falcon Street, Douglas

Posted on October 3, 2012October 3, 2012 by Peter Killey

The once thriving Brewery in Falcon Street in Douglas has now been converted into Apartments!

The Brewery was built in 1874 by Dr Okell – Click here to see the Brewery in 2003.

The image was captured on my Nikon D80 DSLR camera with a Nikon 18-105 F3.5/5.6 G AFS DX lens, cropped and resized in Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Hi! Good picture – I remember that in my childhood the whole area around the brewery smelt of hops!

Hi Joyce, same here, in fact I was born in Hawarden Avenue which is a 5/6 streets away and there were days when I could smell all them hops all them years ago 🙂

More family history! My late father worked in Okells’ cooperage from 1950-55 and part-time as a barman and cellarman at the Falcon Cliff.
