The Historic ‘Nao Santa Maria’ – Douglas Marina

The Historic ‘Nao Santa Maria’ berthed at Douglas inner Harbour this evening.

A full-size replica of one of the world’s most famous historic ships makes its first ever visit to Douglas, Nao Santa María arrives as part of its 2026 European tour.

The imitation of Christopher Columbus’s flagship, described as the protagonist of one of history’s most significant encounters between continents, will be berthed at Douglas Marina from September 2 to 6, providing a rare opportunity to step aboard and experience life as a 15th-century sailor.

The floating museum is operated by the Nao Victoria Foundation, the Spanish organisation dedicated to promoting maritime history through the operation of authentic historical tall ships.

Members of the public will be able to explore the vessel’s decks, cabins and hold while learning about the voyages that helped shape world history and the challenges faced by sailors more than 500 years ago.

All above info from the Douglas City Centre Management Site.
