Black Guillemots

Posted on June 23, 2012June 23, 2012 by Peter Killey

I think these are Black Guillemots and they were lined up on the wall of Peel Harbour this morning. There were a number of photographers taking pictures of them so I thought I would join in! Click image for a larger view.

Peel Harbour today and the water is a bit discoloured after torrential rain on the Isle of Man yesterday (22/6/12) and overnight. This image was captured on my Fuji X10 camera dipped in HDR 5 and resized and cropped in Adobe Photoshop CS5 Feel free to make any comments either on this website by clicking the “Write comment” below or by logging onto my Facebook page www.facebook.com/manxscenes Click on the image for a larger view.

The Narrow but Quaint Charles Street in Peel

Posted on May 19, 2012 by Peter Killey

I always love this little traditional street in Peel, the houses are mostly Peel Sandstone and the traditional street lights make it even more original, I must get down one night to capture a few low light shots. This image was captured on my Fuji X10 camera resized and cropped in Adobe Photoshop CS5 Feel free to make any comments either on this website by clicking the “Write comment” below or by logging onto my Facebook page www.facebook.com/manxscenes Click on the image for a larger view.

The House of Manannan in Peel

Posted on January 21, 2012 by Peter Killey

I love these bronze statues which depicts Norsemen pulling on a rope, what you cannot see is that behind the glass and inside the House of Manannan and attached to the other end of the rope is the Viking Long ship Odins Raven which is being pulled onto shore by these Norsemen, if you have not visited the House of Manannan, believe me it is well worth a visit. The reflection on the glass is the Creek Inn Public House and the Spire of the disused St Peters Church in Market Street in Peel. The images were captured on my Fuji X10 camera, resized and cropped in Adobe Photoshop CS5. Click on the image for a larger view!

Austin A35 on Peel Breakwater

Posted on August 15, 2011 by Peter Killey

Spotted this beautiful, pristine little Austin A35 on Peel Breakwater yesterday, I can only presume that the registration number reflects the year the car was first registered on the Isle of Man. Any ideas of a date of registration for this lovely classic car? The image was taken on my Nikon D80 SLR with a Nikon 18-135 F3.5/5.6 G AFS DX lens at 18mm and cropped in Adobe Photoshop CS5.
