This Manx slate Celtic Cross caught my eye today, when you look at the intricate, delicate hand carving that must have taken place to display this beautiful piece of artwork, this particular cross is more than 50 years old.

The image was taken on my Nikon D80 SLR with a Nikon 18-135 F3.5/5.6 G AFS DX lens at 62mm and cropped in Adobe Photoshop CS5.

This Yacht has been berthed at Victoria Pier over the last couple of days, its a Swedish built charther yacht that is 63m long and 11m wide, it has 7 cabins on board and a crew of 15, according to their website you can charter it from £385,000 a week!

Spotted this Helicopter today which arrives on the Isle of Man prior to TT Week and is used for medical emergencies for the TT.

The helicopter is sat on the Vagabonds Rugby pitch adjacent to the TT Grandstand in Douglas.

Lets hope its not used for TT 2011.

This tiny but beautifully kept Church is one of the best kept secrets of Old Lonan, as you can see in the image there is enough room to get about twenty to thirty people in and the Chapel would be full!!

The image was taken on my Nikon D80 SLR with a Nikon 18-135 F3.5/5.6 G AFS DX lens at 18mm and using a Nikon SB-800 Speedlight.
A beautiful, tranquil and peaceful place.

I captured this vessel moored about a mile north off Ramsey Bay today (just off the Dog Mills in Bride) I am pretty sure she was sheltering from the severe gales that the Island is experiencing right now.

The image was taken on my Nikon D80 SLR with a Nikon 18-135 F3.5/5.6 G AFS DX lens at 135mm.

Caught these images this morning of Douglas Lifeboat Sir William Hillary taking part in an exercise with a Sea King Helicopter from RAF Valley, I wonder whether Prince Andrew was on board??

The images were taken on my Nikon D80 with a Nikon 18-135 F3.5/5.6 G AFS DX lens, these subjects were approximately 1 mile out to sea off Onchan Head.

After a number of serious hosting issues with a chronic webhost, we are back up and running and Manxscenes will now be resumed.

Thanks for your patience on this one 🙂

P.S Never ever, ever sign up to a supposed Web Host called, they will not serve you at all, you have been warned.

Well I am very happy to say that after a number of years absence with my photography website I am back.  I am writing this very first blog up whilst sitting in my motorhome whilst on holiday in Derby and I am pleased to say that it was in early June 2011 that I regained my desire and ambition to get out there and get snapping and sharing my images again with you all.

I have also found a new WordPress (webpage) theme that allows me to easily add pages and posts and images very easily that also allows for anyone visiting my site to easily get in touch with me or leave a comment on any of my images.

I will now endeavour to add at least one image every week, my former site really was to much for me to keep up to date, I just never had much time to do anything else, so hopefully the new look site will be more manageable for me from now on!

I do hope that you will like the new site, and I have even branched out onto Twitter where I will tweet any follower to my Twitter feed @manxscenes all the latest images and information that I have added to the site.

I hope you like the new site and I look forward to adding many more images from now on.
