I’m intrigued. Why is it called Spit Corner?
From what I can gather Eleanor it appears the the old Peel tobacco chewing fella’s that used to congregate there used to spit the tobacco out onto the road, sadly most of them have gone now, some real characters used to gather there to discuss and discover the skeet.
Thank you Peter. I assumed it might be something like that. It’s nice when old customs are remembered in this way.
