Set back from the road between Ballig Bridge and Laurel Bank on the TT Course is this lovely entrance gate to “The Beary”, I have drove past this entrance so many times but I have never seen it until the other day! The image was captured on my Sony HX20V camera, resized and cropped in Adobe Photoshop CS6. The Highlander on the main Douglas to Peel Road at Greeba
I have always admired this lovely little property that stands at the foot of Greeba Mountain and which is also closely associated with the Buggane of St Trinian’s Church which is just down the road from this location (I will cover St Trinian’s Church on another post sometime). The Highlander which has been a Public House since the late 1800’s has now closed it’s doors in April 2012 for the last time. Kates Cottage and the Original Keppel Gate
Approximately 34 miles around the world famous Isle of Man TT Course from the TT Grandstand you will come across the original Keppel Gate (post) and around the corner the famous Kates which is better known as Kates Cottage (but originally Tate’s Cottage).
