Wild Flowers – Port St Mary
Well done to Port St Mary Commisioners and the Wild Flowers of Mann Project, this little wild flower area of Port St Mary was teaming in wildlife today including I would say around 500 Painted Lady Butterflies 🦋 🇮🇲 Feel free to make any comments either on this website by clicking the “Leave a comment” above or by logging onto my Facebook Page enjoy – Click on the image for a larger view.

A Boat Trip around the Calf of Man
A beautiful trip around the most southerly part of the Isle of Man onboard Isle of Man Diving Charters beautiful boat Kirree Varrey, skippered by my friends, Thomas and Sarah Keggen. I was treated to some wonderful views of Sugar Loaf Rock and all it’s wildlife, Chicken Rock Lighthouse which is the most southerly point of the Isle of Man and the rugged coastline of the Calf of Man and it’s once used lighthouses, then up the coast to Bradda Head Mines with a lovely stop off trip to Cow Harbour on the Calf of Man where Thomas and Sarah made us all a cup of tea, coffee and some lovely home made cake. All in all a fantastic experience and one I would recommend to anyone wanting to view the Southern coastline of the Isle of Man. ~ isleofmandivingcharters.com ~ Feel free to make any comments either on this website by clicking the “Leave a comment” above or by logging onto my Facebook Page enjoy – Click on any of the the below images for a larger view.
Mona’s Queen III Memorial
Mona’s Queen III Memorial The anchor from the Mona’s Queen III, which lies at Kallow Point in Port St Mary, is a memorial to those who lost their lives in Operation Dynamo. During the 1990s, divers exploring wrecks off the coast of Dunkirk identified that one of the anchors from the wreck of the Isle of Man Steam Packet’s Mona’s Queen III had become detached and therefore could be considered separate to the untouchable war grave. After much hard work and campaigning, the anchor was finally returned to the Island in October 2011 and officially opened on 29th May 2012, the 72nd anniversary of the loss of the three ships. Strathallen Castle – Port St Mary
Strathallen Castle, formerly the Clifton Hotel in Port St Mary, was built on a promontory which has superb views of Port St Mary Bay and the rugged cliffs towards the Chasms. Look at the little bridge leading to St. Thomas’s Isle which was once a private boat launch. The property is in slight disrepair now but what a beautiful place to live. I just love this lovely old thatched cottage in Cregneash Village. Life must have been so wonderful living in this village in years gone bye and no doubt very hard.
