A non stop photographic journey around the Isle of Man by Peter Killey

This former Hotel has now been converted into luxury apartments.

The building stands high above Port St Mary Breakwater and I am sure the views from the top apartment will be stunning.

Just playing around with a new High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo programme and this is my first feeble attempt!!

Both of the below images were captured as single images as opposed to a bracketed 3 images which is normal in HDR photography.

Both images were captured late afternoon and show Port St Mary inner Harbour at low tide.

The images were captured on my Fuji X10 camera, resized and cropped in Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Tone Mapped in Photomatix.

Wow, what fresh start for all these brave people for taking part in the Southern New Years Day dips.

Image 1 & 2 were taken on Chapel Beach in Port St Mary at about 12.45hrs and shows the guys and girls going in and quickly coming out, images 3, 4, 5 and 6 were taken at around 13.30hrs in Port St Mary Inner Harbour, again with the dippers going in and quickly coming back out, believe me it was freezing just watching these guys!

Whilst walking along from Chapel Bay to Port St Mary I spotted these boats high and dry but non the less very colourful on the beach adjacent to Port St Mary Harbour – (click image for larger view).
