Hello Peter. I was delighted to discover your website today. My grandfather, William Henry Carine was of Manx descent, but born in Michigan, USA. His father was born in Port Erin and christened at Kirk Christ Rushen. A few years ago, we visited there and were enchanted by this beautiful island. I was working on a novel about my grandfather’s family, which I have now completed. I will keep checking back on your website, as I don’t know when or if we can ever visit again. I live in Nanton, Alberta, Canada. While we were visiting Man, we met Chris Pulling, who has done amazing books on the steam train railways. Perhaps you know of them.
