A lovely walk this afternoon, this image is overlooking the remote but beautiful Tholtans of ‘Upper Grange’, which is high up on the Narradale track above Sulby.

Hi Peter My name is Ramsey Allen Barber and I have found in the 1881 census that my Great Grandfather John Allen lived at the Grange Lezayre IOM ,Would this be the same as in the photo ofUpper Grange Tholtans Cheers.
A family called Allen owned what is now an unoccupied house situated at Narradale on the opposite side of the glen to the Upper Grange A member of this family lives at St Jude’s we think in a house called Springfield west.
As far as we know the Upper Grange was occupied by the Quayle family towards the end of 19 century My mother lived there before moving to Ellanbane Farm Lezayre
